The TTplus project did some research on the actual practice of training within companies. Each partner did 3 case studies about training. We used a triangulative of perspectives asking not only trainers, but also the trainees and the person who organise the training within the companies.

throughout all case studies. If you are interested in detailed in our case studies, find here the country reports of the project partners. The country reports describe the national cases as well as the national context (policies, statistics etc.) in which the training takes place.
ttplus germany countryreport
The German team kept there cases in the field of training in electric occupations. They have researched the training practice of an international operating enterprise group, a service provider in the field of ICT, and a major steel-producing company. The dual system of apprenticeship is being used as the basic model for staff recruitment and for the induction of new staff members to diverse departments or business units.
ttplus greece country report
The Greek partner has done innovative research in a sector of high economic importance that is largely ignored in research: the shipping sector. The interesting issue on the shipping sector is that the product (the ships and the way how to ship cargo) have not been changed significantly over the last 25 years. This is contrasted by the research in the training practice of an IT company.
ttplus dutch country report
The Dutch team selected 3 highly innovative companies (in terms of their training practice). One case consist of a governmental organisation, one is a leading training firm, and the third is a small educational training company. We can find here issues tackled like the integration of freelancers and the outsourcing of training as well as the extensive use of e-learning.
ttplus_portugal_countryreport
The cases studies from Portugal are very much of interest because of their contrastive settings. The Portugese partner have selected a huge variety of cases to demonstrate the variety of training practice in their country. For example they have researched professional training institutes that provide training to companies as well as a training company that provides training for international companies therefore delivering training corresponding to German training standards.
ttplus romania countryreport
The Romanian partner has done research in a former state-owned construction company, in a multinational insurance company and in a training institute in public administration. This sample represents the variety of employment conditions in Romania. Our Romanian partner Magda Balica mentioned that she is very happy with the methodology of the project because it does not focus on deficits that exist but she is able to show that even in the Romanian context there are positive elements within the practice of training (look also at the instances of change).
ttplus uk countryreport
The UK case studies consist of a consultancy company and their bought-in IT training, a community development programme and a training scheme within the health sector. The cases are of interest because they describe a shift from class-room training to training within the work process. Aspects of organisational change, learning and development are intertwined. The discussion to seperate learning form education, to enable people to learn by themselves is strongly supported by the work of the trainer in the selected cases.
